50 Cent out with song on dark past

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) 50 CENT, WHO recently filed for bankruptcy after losing a suit over a sex tape, came out on Friday with a new song about his dark past as he looks to reboot his career.

The rapper made no direct reference to his latest woes in the song, 9 Shots, but the lyrics revolve around vows to be resilient.

The song recounts setbacks in his life including his troubled youth. His mother, who gave birth to him at age 15 and dealt cocaine, was murdered when he was a child.

50 Cent describes the hard times as a series of nine shots - the same number of times he was shot during a 2000 assassination attempt, which he survived.

"I got two shots left in case n****s try to get me / That's nine shots, we just call it 50," he rapped.

The track is set to appear on Street King Immortal, an album expected to be released later this year but which has been repeatedly delayed.

50, or Curtis James Jackson, rose from poverty to riches, but he filed for bankruptcy last month.
