Two teenagers arrested for stealing from cars


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)The Sharjah Police have arrested two juveniles for a series of thefts from cars.

According to a senior officer the police received several complaints about such thefts. In all the cases the car's windows were found smashed.

A police team formed to crack the case began monitoring areas targeted by the thieves. The police set a trap and arrested two Arab teenagers red-handed as they tried to smash open the window of a parked car.

The two boys have reportedly confessed to carrying out a spate of thefts from cars.

Colonel Ibrahim Al Ajil acting Director of Criminal Investigation Department Sharjah Police said: "It is regretful that teenagers are getting involved in such crimes. I urge parents to monitor their children and prevent them from getting into bad company.

"In Sharjah there are lots of cultural and social clubs. Parents can get their children involved in such clubs to keep them engaged."

He also called on motorists to avoid leaving valuable items in their cars.
