(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)Spennithorne clinched her maiden win in three starts by winning the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes (Plus 10 Race) at Wolverhampton UK.
The two-year-old filly from successful sire Shamardal galloped to a commanding victory in the race run on Tapeta surface. Trained by Charlie Appleby and piloted by Dubai World Cup-winning jockey William Buick won by three lengths over Caitie trained by Paul Cole and ridden by Silvestre de Sousa. The Tom Dascombe-trained Ice Cream the ride of Richard Kingscote was beaten by a neck and finished third. Spennithorne chased the leaders and was shaken up to lead over one furlong out. She was then ridden clear inside final furlong. Spennithorne had a good debut in July when she finished third in the Denford Stud And Longines Irish Champions Weekend EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes (Plus 10 Race) at Newbury. She followed that up with another third place in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes (Plus 10 Race) at Thirsk. Meanwhile Coordinate broke a two-year drought for his maiden win in eight starts. The four-year Gelding the son of Hard Spun from True Style clinched the Maiden Claiming (3yo+) in Saratoga USA. Coordinate trained by Thomas Albertrani with Junior Alvarado on board won by a length over Tiz Time To Shake. Tizacinch was third. Co-ordinate held up in final trio and took closer order on outer soon after halfway. He was a close third one-and-a-half furlongs out and was ridden and ran on to lead 100 yards out. Elsewhere in Presque Isle Downs three-year-old filly Thunder Bay trained by Eoin Harty and ridden Antonio A Gallardo) finished second in the Allowance Race (Allowance) (3yo+ Fillies and Mares).
