Qatar- Ministry warns against wrong parking

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Gone are the days when there used to be fewer problems related to traffic during weekends.

Now, with the country's population increasing rapidly, traffic-related woes are also on the rise.

According to the Ministry of Interior, some motorists are showing chaotic behaviour on Fridays and Saturdays.

As people visit shopping centres and for entertainment to beaches and other places they don't follow traffic rules.

The ministry said on its Facebook account that motorists park their cars haphazardly during weekends, near mosques and in parking slots in such a way that other cars are blocked.

The ministry posted a photograph that shows a mini-truck parked in a slot, blocking at least one of the cars.

Another photograph shows cars parked haphazardly and in clogged manner in another public parking lot.

The ministry said that such irresponsible behaviour by motorists is also obvious near main mosques during Friday prayers.

"During weekends especially people don't follow traffic rules. They make mistakes and disrupt traffic," said the ministry.

"This is a serious violation of traffic rules," said the ministry on its Facebook account. Some people park cars in slots reserved for people with special needs, the ministry said.

It asked motorists to follow traffic rules or face the music.
