Sky Freight OSN goes deep in title run with 4th Team of Week plum
(MENAFN- Arab News) JEDDAH: Make no mistake Sky Freight-OSN is deep into another title run after picking up its fourth Team of the Week award during the 16th session in the OSN-FTBJ 50th Open Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City here.
With its fourth accolade the most of any team in the competiton Sky Freight which posted the top tally of 44 points pulled away at the top of the team standings.
It was a singularly superb performance by Emy de Guzman's charges with none of their rivals able to come cloe to Sky Freight's total.
Two teams tied on 34 points in second place when next to last GBI-TBBGI provided surprise company to Alfa Moe Yasser.
Al Murjana tallied 31 points followed by Masaken on 27 good for fifth place on the night. Habagat and Xtreme-Taurus had matching cards of 26.
The previous week honoreee BCT-Lutong Pinoy gathered 25 points. Bank AlJazira Fawri had 22 points MC Hammer 19 D' Barkads 13 and Red Dragons 11 points.
Danny Bautista of Alfa Moe won the individual Bowler of the Week race shooting the high series of 670 on lines of 231 256 and 183.
GBI-TBBGI and Alfa Moe alternated at winning the first and second games but then faded after that while steady Sky Freight clinched the third game and overall output while keeping the first two games winners at bay in the early going.
Four players hit three-game series at three-time champion Sky Freight with Oca Bernabe returning the highest score among the quartet at 666. Pancho Cuevas drilled 658 Goying Salazar fired 632 and Bonnie Garcia tallied 565. Nanding Siasoco contributed 182-171 and James Galvan made 159.
Tope Sayson produced the top score of 607 from the GBI-TBBGI six-man rotation followed by Mao Orolfo on 589 Cesar Sacramed on 578 and Alex Duma on 527. Fadi Al Haddad tossed in 186-193 and Tommy Kamal aded 213 to round out the scoring.
At Alfa Moe Cesar Monares fired 647 as chief backup to Bautista. Obie Ycasas at 532 was the other three-game series scorer. With two games each were Abdul F. Mugawan 152-174 Rally Zamora 215-192 and Nonie Yap 186-195.
Rolly Vistal led Murjana on 636 with Nap Patayan on 617 Archie Santos 587 and Rey Beltran 559. Elo Manalo and Joey Calapatia shared the remaining three games on 185-172 and 162.
