IGas chief keen to work with communities on fracking concerns

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors)The chief executive of IGas Energy (LON:IGAS) Stephen Bowler says public concerns around fracking could be helped by a better understanding of shale gas operators' methods and objectives.  His comments come amid government plans which could fast-track planning decisions for shale gas and fracking projects. The controversial procedure of hydraulic fracturing – or "fracking" –involves pumping water sand and chemicals into a well to extract oil or gas.  The rocks are then fractured and gas can escape to the surface through the cracks. Negative impacts on landscapes and water supplies are particular concerns to environmentalists. IGas highlighted its 30 year record of safely and successfully extracting oil and gas onshore in Britain.
