Oman- Omani exports touch RO20.4bn in 2014


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) As per the report published by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) the value of Omani exports in 2014 touched RO20.46bn including RO2.94bn worth of re-export goods.

The report said that the value of crude oil exports stood at RO11.59bn LNG exports at RO1.493bn compared to RO309.5mn for refined oil products. The value of mineral fuel and oil desalination products wax which topped the list of top ten products exported stood at RO914.7mn.

Organic chemical products came second with RO611mn followed by aluminium and its products with RO373.7mn.

The value of fertiliser exports stood at RO253mn compared to RO222.5mn for steel and iron RO159mn for iron and steel industries RO154.7mn for machinery and electrical appliances and their parts and RO810.2mn for other industrial products.

The value of chemical materials and products was recorded at RO1.127bn refined oil products at RO913.3mn RO708.6mn for basic industries and minerals RO393mn for food products industry and RO155.4mn for electrical mineral industry.

As for foodstuff exports the value of livestock exports stood at RO233.4mn compared to RO66.4mn for plant products RO81.3mn for vegetable oils and fats and RO193.2mn for the foodstuffs industry and their drinks.

UAE topped the list of top ten importers with RO776 million (18.8 per cent) followed by Pakistan with RO468mn (11.3 per cent) and Saudi Arabia with RO437mn (10.6 per cent).

The value of non-oil exports to India stood at RO384m (9.3 per cent). The value of non-oil exports to Kuwait stood at RO158mn (3.8 per cent) compared to RO122mn (three per cent) to South Korea RO96mn (2.3 per cent) for Qatar and RO90mn (2.2 per cent) for Brazil.
