Air Arabia net profit drops to USD65m in H1

(MENAFN) UAE Air Arabia recorded a net profit of USD65 million in the January-June period of this year, down by four percent compared to the same period last year.

The low-cost carrier's net profit for the second quarter ending June 30, 2015 dropped by 12 percent, reaching USD41.7 million, the airline said in a statement.

The airline's turnover for the first six months reached USD480.1 million in line with the corresponding period of 2014, while turnover for the three months to June 30 stood at USD235.93 million.

The Sharjah-based airline said the fall in net profit was "mainly driven by pressured yield margins due to market conditions as well as a number of strategic investments made by the airline."
