UAE- Gargash receives Yemeni foreign minister

Abu Dhabi 12th August 2015 (WAM)Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and visiting Yemeni Foreign Minister Riyadh Yassin today discussed the latest developments and political efforts in Yemen.

The two ministers underscored the need for implementing the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2216 in a manner that ensures the security and stability of Yemen and guarantees participation of all components of the Yemeni people.

The Yemeni foreign minister expressed gratitude to the Arab Coalition for its consistent efforts to support legitimacy in Yemen. He also praised the UAE's contribution in this respect and the dedication and support of the UAE people for Yemen's security and stability.

The two sides expressed optimism over the developments on the ground which they said would contribute positively to resolving the Yemeni crisis by supporting the legitimate government and to address humanitarian challenges in light of the liberation of Aden from the clutches of the Houthi militias and their allies.

The meeting also touched on features for reconstruction in Yemen and ways to tackle the damage caused by the rebellion against the legitimacy.

Salem Khalifa Al Ghafli UAE Ambassador to Yemen and Mahsh Saeed Al Hameli Director of the Department of International Security Co-operation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting.
