Qatar- Al Rayyan lose to Al Khor in friendly


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Al Khor defeated Al Rayyan 2-1 in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday night in the Netherlands.

Al Rayyan took the lead and scored first via their new signing Sebastian Soria in the 12th minute of the first half.

Al Khor replied through Brazilian forward Julio Cesar, who scored the equalizer on the 21st minute of the first half. Both teams went into the break with one goal apiece.

During the second half, both coaches made several changes in order to identify the players' level of performance.

Al Khor scored their second goal in the 63rd minute of the second-half courtesy of Nayef Al Briki.

The game ended 2-1 to Al Khor as Al Rayyan continued to struggle in their pre-season games.

Al Gharafa's Claudiu Keseru moves to Ludogorets

Al Gharafa has agreed to sell Romanian forward Claudiu Keseru to top Bulgarian side Ludogorets.

The deal was done in light of a strong offer from the Bulgarian side and the player will start with his new side from the start of the season.

Keseru had joined Al Gharafa during the winter transfer window last season. But with new coach Pericles Chamusca bringing in new signings, regular playing time would not have been guaranteed for the Romanian.

Al Kharaitiyat travel to Slovenia

Al Kharaitiyat left for Slovenia on Tuesday morning. The team will be in Europe until the end of the month for training.

The delegation is supervised by the club's Sports Director Nasser Al Fadalah and consists of 48 individuals who make up the squad and support staff.

The training sessions will commence shortly as the team gets ready for the new Qatar Stars League season.

Both Al Kharaitiyat and Mesaimeer are holding their overseas training camps in Slovenia this year.

El Jaish coach satisfied with foreign players

El Jaish club's head of Football Youssef Dasmal expressed his full satisfaction with the team's performances during the two recent pre-season friendlies played in Austria.

Dasmal said in a statement to the club's official website that the team had a good match against Serial A side Hellas Verona. "The friendly versus Hellas Verona was tough and competitive, the management which is led by Sabri Lamouchi, felt that the team benefitted from this

pre-season clash and that the players are starting to gel," he said.

Dasmal praised the new foreign signings, especially the Moroccan Abdel Razaq Hamdallah and the Uzbek Rashidov.
