Cloudy weather for 2 days in east and south of UAE

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)The UAE'S eastern and southern regions can expect at least two more days of cloudy weather and low visibility according to forecasters from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

Two days of inclement weather was noticed in parts of the country. The NCMS is urging residents to be particularly careful while driving especially in low-lying areas which might flood during rains. "There will be a drop in visibility due to rain and sometimes dusty weather" an NCMS forecaster said. "We advise people to avoid low valleys and wadis." The forecaster also warned that the waters of the Oman Sea will be rough and are best avoided. "For the last two days the weather has been unstable in the eastern region due to humid air coming from the southeast" the forecaster said.

"The mountains push this air up resulting in a cooling effect and clouds develop."

Masafi on the Ras Al Khaimah-Fujairah border recorded 15.6 mm of rain while the eastern Ajman exclave of Manama reported hail.

"This will continue tomorrow and the day after in the eastern and mountain areas" the forecaster noted. "It may extend to the west as well."
