Libyan prime minister resigns

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Libya's internationally recognized prime
minister, Abdullah al-Thinni, resigned Tuesday in a televised speech, according to dpa.

Al-Thinni gave no reason and didn't say whether he would stay on in a
caretaker role while United Nations works on a dialogue to form a new
government, the Libya Herald reported.

Al-Thinni's resignation came after UN Libya envoy Bernardino Leon
said rival factions in Libya should conclude a peace deal in time for
the UN General Conference.
