Festival marks UN accolade granted to His Highness Kuwaiti Amir


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) As part of "Constantine Capital of Arab Culture 2015" activities, Kuwait cultural week is celebrating the United Nations honoring of His Highness the Amir Sheik Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a "Humanitarian Leader" and Kuwait as a "Humanitarian center." In a photography exhibition, His Highness the Amir's philanthropic accomplishments were showcased.
Algerian Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi visited the exhibition in the company of Assistant Secretary General of Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Dr. Bader Faisal Al-Duweesh.
The Algerian minister reiterated his congratulations to His Highness the Amir for receiving this UN accolade which reflected a wise leadership.
Meanwhile, Al-Duweesh, who is also head of the Kuwaiti delegation at the event, emphasized that Kuwait's participation at this cultural event was to bridge cultural gaps and make the Kuwaiti heritage known to larger audiences. He added, aside from the photography exhibition, Kuwait cultural week included modern and folkloric musical performances played by the Kuwait national band.
"Constantine, the capital of Arab Culture 2015" is part of a broader plan of world cultural capitals; its goal is to promote Arab culture and facilitate intra-Arab collaborations.
