Worker in dock for molesting 11 year old


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)A worker faced trial on Sunday in the Court of First Instance for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old Indian girl.

The accused an Indian worker 28 is believed to have taken advantage of absence of her parents to commit the crime which happened on May 18. The girl's mother said she parked her car outside their building in Al Rafaa around 9.30pm.

"My daughter walked to a nearby ice cream shop. She came back crying and looking scared" she told the prosecutor. The girl told her mother that a man working at an ironing shop in the area used bad language when talking with her.

"The next day she said the man stalked her." On May 19 the mother got a phone call from her daughter's teacher informing her about the same incident.

"When my daughter returned home I asked her about what happened. She said the man groped her and talked to her inappropriately."

The girl's father was away from home on a trip when the incident happened.

When he returned after three days the girl and parents started searching for the man at the ironing shops in the vicinity and found him. A verbal brawl ensued between the father and the accused when the latter denied meeting the girl and her claims.

The girl said in the investigation that the man appreciated her clothes one day stalked her the following day and touched her in an inappropriate way.

A police corporal said they arrested the accused from the shop in Oud Metha. "The accused denied molesting the girl and claimed he did not see or meet her."
