Ukraine's GDP to grow 2 percent in 2016


(MENAFN) The Ukrainian government confirmed its growth forecast for 2016, with the country's gross domestic product (GDP) seen to grow 2 percent as previously forecast.

According to a statement published on the government's website, the East European country's nominal GDP will reach approximately USD107.3 billion next year.

Based on an optimistic scenario of the economic development, inflation is projected to decrease to 12 percent next year from the estimated 26.7 percent in 2015.

However, under a pessimistic scenario, the government estimates that the Ukrainian economy could contract 0.3 percent in 2016, with inflation reaching 14.7 percent.
