UN Chief condemns series of attacks in Turkey
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned today's series of terrorist attacks including on the security forces, both in Istanbul and in the south-east provinces, as well as on the US Consulate in Istanbul.
"He is greatly concerned by the violence," his press office said in a statement.
The UN Chief expressed his deepest sympathies with the victims of today's acts, as well as with the Government and people of Turkey, hoping that the perpetrators of the attacks will be swiftly brought to justice.
The far-left Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKPC) claimed responsibility for attacks on the US consulate building earlier today.
Another suicide bomber committed an attack at a police station injuring 10, among them three policemen.
Clashes also erupted between police and assailants in the site of the attack.
