Yemeni VP grateful for GCC efforts in liberating country


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Yemeni Vice President, Khaled Bahah expressed gratitude on Monday for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations' efforts to restore security in his country, and their contributions in liberating the province of Aden and other strategic areas from militants' control.
In a press conference alongside Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Abdullatif Al Zayani in the Saudi capital, Bahah acknowledged Yemen's solid relationship with the GCC.
Moreover, the Yemeni Vice President called on the people of Yemen to unite against Houthi rebels in order to reconstruct the war-torn nation.
Bahah also stressed the importance of enforcing the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2216, which established an arms embargo on Houthi rebels and forces loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Al Zayani affirmed the GCC's commitment to standing by Yemen until all efforts at restoring peace and security in the country are realized.
The Secretary-General of the GCC also lauded recent Yemeni military successes in Aden, Lahij and other provinces.
