Turkey's industrial output in June rose at the fastest pace in 17 months, boosted by domestic demand.

Industrial production increased 5.5% from a year earlier, the most since January 2014, beating even the highest estimate of 5.2% in a Bloomberg survey of 11 economists. Manufacturing rose 6.9%, while power
generation was up 1.4% when adjusted for working days, Turkey's statistics bureau said in a statement on its website last week. The report showed broad-based gains, with all of the main industrial groups increasing output. Domestic demand improved thanks to lower energy prices and falling household debt, said Bora Tamer Yilmaz, an economist at Ziraat Yatirim in Istanbul.
