Jordan- Gov't pumped JD250mln in local market, says PM


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, on Monday, said his government paid all of its dues of taxes and compensations for private expropriations at a value of JD250 million which was pumped into the local market.

The government has also taken, during the current year, a number of decisions and measures to spur economic growth, the prime minister said during a ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of the Jordan Businessmen Society.

Among these measure, Ensour pointed, is reducing electricity tariff on tourist facilities by about JD30 million annually. He added the government increased allocations for tourism promotion campaigns in addition to offering exemptions to the housing and real estate sector.

The prime minister made it clear that achieving growth is the prime concern now, stressing that his government has been tirelessly working to improve the investment environment and upgrade economic legislation.
