LeddarTech has a customer of truck inspection station equipment manufacturer that seeks to implement a system that will provide automatic classification of trucks and measure overall dimensions (height width and length) as they go through inspection stations.
The system needed to be able to take measurements while vehicles are moving in order to increase the control speed; it also needed to operate day and night in all weather conditions including rain fog and snow. The LeddarTech sensor uses a novel inherently eye-safe technology that performs detection and ranging by time-of-flight measurement using pulses from a visible or infrared light source.
Wide diffused light beam and multiple segments provide accurate measurement of trucks under all environmental conditions; a high acquisition rate provides a fast and reliable vehicle profile.
