Saudi- GCC Chief stresses importance to support Gulf Police Apparatus


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani, on Sunday asserted keenness of the GCC Secretariat and its willingness to provide full support to the Gulf Police Apparatus for the sake of strengthening its role in the joint security work.

Al-Zayani expressed, in a press statement during a meeting with Chairman of the Gulf Police Apparatus, Colonel Mubarak Al-Khaili, hope that the apparatus would constitute a major tributary to strengthen security work among the GCC countries in order to achieve their goals.

The secretary-general affirmed that the GCC ministers of the interior are paying great attention to the apparatus as a leading Gulf Foundation aims to promote the Gulf integration and interdependence in the security field.

For his part, Al-Khaili briefed Al-Zayani on plans and programs the apparatus intends to implement in the future with the security services in the GCC countries in coordination with similar institutions all over the world in order to combat the various types of crimes.
