Qatar share index plunges 160 points


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Stock Exchange index dropped 160.03 points (-1.36%) when the bourse closed trading at 11,610.22 points on Sunday.

The daily turnover increased to QR 150.52mn with a volume of 3,490,944 shares from 2,659 deals compared to QR 135.93mn with a volume of 2,696,584 shares from 2,413 deals on Thursday.

The market capitalisation decreased to QR 617.16bn from QR 624.39bn registered on Thursday.

Indices of six sectors ended in red and one in green.

Real estate index declined -2.25% to 2,611.60 points. Industries index dropped -1.92% to 3,684.98 points, while consumer goods and services index gained +0.07% to 7,182.18 points.

QSE Total Return Index declined to -1.36% to 18,046.42 points, QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index dropped -1.27% to 4,524.13 points and QSE All Share Index decreased -1.17% to 3,110.79 points.

Of the 43 companies listed on QSE, investors exchanged shares of 39 firms. Of them, five gained, while 34 went down.
