NATO Service Member Killed in Afghanistan


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) A NATO service member has been killed during attack on a coalition facility in capital Kabul.

NATO's Resolute Support (RS) mission in Afghanistan states that the attack took place at 10:15 pm last night, NATO's Resolute Support (RS) mission said in a statement carried by Khaama Press.

"A coalition facility was attacked at 10:15 pm, 7 August. One Resolute Support service member and two insurgent attackers were killed. We are gathering further information", a statement said.

The statement further states that it is RS policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.

During the attack sounds of heavy and light weapons were heard in the area. The attack was followed by two deadly suicide attacks in the capital that left at least 34 killed and more than 400 wounded.
