Iraqi Prime Minister to Cancel Vice President Post as Part of Reforms
(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi called Sunday for canceling vice president and deputy prime minister positions.
The Prime Minister released a statement today saying he will be reopening of corruption investigations and the reassignment of officials' security details to the ministers of Defence and interior. Abadi called for an end to sectarian and party quotas for government positions as well.
The statement added that Al Abadi has asked the cabinet to approve the decision and for the parliament to ratify it so that the Prime Minister can implement the reforms.
