(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein patronized, on Saturday, the launching of, Ethmar, the first Islamic microfinance Sharia compliant institution in Jordan.
Ethmar is affiliated to the King Hussein Foundation, which Her Majesty is the founder and chairperson of it.
The establishment of Ethmar falls within the King Hussein Foundation's mission to promote social equity and create economic opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs of low income.
Queen Noor Al Hussein highlighted the important role of Ethmar in promoting entrepreneurship among marginalized communities and enhancing their financial and social inclusion.
Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein also discussed with the Board of Directors the vision of Ethmar becoming an innovative model for economic empowerment similar to the other pioneering programs of King Hussein Foundation established over the last 3 decades.
Ethmar's Chairman of the Board, Faris Sharaf, elaborated that Ethmar will start by providing three specific Sharia compliant products and other Islamic financial services, in collaboration with public and private organizations throughout Jordan.
He also added that Ethmar aspires to become the leading Islamic microfinance provider in Jordan and the Arab Region.
