UAE- Enlace lands Qatar Stakes Handicap

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)Enlace ridden by Silvestre D'Souza made every move to land the seven-furlong Qatar Stakes Handicap the final race on the final day of the Glorious Goodwood on Saturday.

Raced by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai and trained by Mark Johnston at Middleham Moor in UK three-year-old Shamardal filly was cut to 11-2 on the account of her disappointing at Ascot when finished one before last in a handicap event.

But contrary to the early expectations Enlace broke nicely from the stalls and tracked the leading group before being ridden to lead over one furlong out and was clear inside the concluding stages to lead by three quarters of a length on the line.

However Enlace was not raced at the age of two-year-old but she made eight appearances during the previous two months. She has finished fourth in her two first starts at Chelmsford racecourse and Sandwon Park in two handicap races under Silvestre D'Souza and Royston Ffrench. But she broke the maiden in her third start at Goodwood last month in the hands of Joe Fanning.
