Five Daesh militants killed near Iraq's border with Jordan


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Five militants belonging to Daesh organization, including suicide bombers, were killed while attempting an attack on a station near Tarbeel border crossing between Iraq and Jordan.

An Iraqi security source said today a number of Daesh militants attempted to attack a station near Trabeel border crossing on the Iraqi-Jordanian borders but security forces managed to kill five militants belonging to Daesh organization.

In another development, the source said, two explosive devices went off in an hotel in western Mosul in northern Iraq when a patrol of Daesh organization entered the hotel killing and injuring eleven members of Daesh. Four vehicles belonging to the organization were set on fire in the explosion.

The source added that Daesh militants executed Ayed Ghazi Al-Obeidi, a member of the Mutahidoun (united) bloc which is led by Iraqi Vice President Osama Al-Nujaifi, south of Mosul, noting that Daesh refused to hand over Al-Obeidi's body to his family after execting him by shooting him in the head.
