QC launches 'Ghaith' initiative

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Charity (QC) has launched 'Ghaith' initiative to serve Islamic projects worldwide. It is supervised by Qatari preacher Dr Ahmed Al Hammadi.

The initiative is part of QC's efforts to expand charity work and develop cultural and educational centres. It is also a continuation of projects established and supported by QC and supervised by Dr Al Hammadi.

The initiative aims to introduce Islamic culture and strengthen its presence among Western communities in particular, and the world in general. It also seeks to sustain economic resources of Islamic educational and cultural organisations, and market and implement programmes.

The initiative was officially founded last year, however, its history goes back to 15 years. It has operated in over 50 countries, establishing Islamic centres that spread Islamic sciences, studies and culture in Western countries.

Among its priorities, Ghaith aspires to be the first patron that empowers Islamic culture in the West. It seeks to manage and develop resources allocated for Islamic educational and cultural programmes and projects. To that end, methods for realising excellence, leadership, transparency, sustainability and credibility have been employed.

The initiative operates in Britain, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland, the US, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, Ukraine, Luxembourg, Brazil, Kosovo, Bosnia, Albania and Hungary. It has also implemented Islamic projects this year, including opening Islamic schools in France; Milano Sesto Islamic Centre (Italy); Da'wah, Media and Islamic Services Centre (Germany); and Ibn Sina Islamic and Cultural Centre; Al Noor Centre for Introducing Islam; and Al Noor Centre in Alsace Mulhouse region (all in France). The name 'Ghaith' is derived from the Arabic meaning of abundant rain which brings relief and good to people.
