Bodies recovered at site of Turkish construction accident


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Rescuers have pulled three bodies of construction workers from under collapsed scaffolding in western Turkey on Tuesday.

One worker from the highway site near Izmir is still missing, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

Two bodies were retrieved later on Tuesday night following an earlier discovery.

The men were standing on the scaffolding when it collapsed under the weight of fresh concrete during the construction of a highway bridge linking Izmir to Menemen on Tuesday afternoon.

A search for the fourth worker is being conducted by teams from AFAD and the fire department.
