Toyota logs net profit of USD5.2b in Q2

(MENAFN) Toyota said quarterly net profit surged 10 percent and raised its fiscal-year revenue forecast, but warned over prospects in China, the world's biggest vehicle market.

The Japanese automaker reported net profit of USD5.2 billion in the three months to June, beating analyst expectations, while revenue rose 9.3 percent to USD56.27 billion.

However, the Corolla and Camry manufacturer sales were slightly lower in the April-June period and it cut its 2015 calendar year sales forecasts to 10.12 million units from 10.15 million units.

Toyota, which also said its fiscal year to March revenue would be slightly higher than the expected USD22.41 billion, credited a weak yen and cost cuts for its latest financial results.
