Kuwait- Eng Munawer Presses For Fish Market Removal At Mubarakiya


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Deputy Director General of Project Development at Kuwait Municipality Engineer Yousef Al-Munawer is pressing for the fish market to be removed from the location that houses meat, fish and vegetable markets at Mubarakiya Market in Kuwait City, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In a letter addressed to the Director General of Public Authority for Public and Private Sectors Joint Enterprises during a meeting of the team handling expiry contracts for real estates built on public properties, Al-Munawer enumerated some points. The points included removing fish market from the project and in case the step is not possible legitimately, the investor should find a way of getting rid of the attendant odor.

They also included opening all activities without special exclusion, except for meat and vegetables, which he stressed, should remain where they are. Al-Munawer also recommended converting the fish area into an investment area without specifying its activities. He recommended the investor should be made to renovate the western part of the place for tourist attraction, and restructure the place, especially parking lots. He stressed the country should maintain the right of collecting fees for the service.

Farwaniya Maintenance Supervisor and acting Director of Engineering and Activities Department Ali Al-Dousari has affirmed that Farwaniya Educational District (FED) is ready for the opening of the next semester, reports Al-Anba daily. Al-Dousari disclosed Amer Bin Rabea Elementary School for Boys in Ashbiliya will be ready for academic activities by next semester.

He added two more intermediate schools for boys and girls will be operational to serve residents of Ashbiliya starting from 2016/2017 academic year. He pointed out that the ministry does not want residents of the area to face difficulties in taking their children to far away schools, so Jleeb Kindergarten will resume operations five years after its closure.

He asserted the maintenance contracts at Farwaniya Educational District are divided between Block 1 that has 32 schools and Block 2 with 28 schools. He said these schools are of different educational stages, while the maintenance activities include emergency, major and minor works.
