Two factories gutted in Ajman fire

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)Two fire incidents were reported from Ajman on Saturday night however no one was injured.

Both the fire incidents - one at a food factory and the other at a boats manufacturing factory - were reported from the new industrial area of the emirate and took place at around 4pm. Both the factories were completely gutted in the fire and the owners suffered heavy losses.

The timely intervention of the Ajman Civil Defence helped in controlling the blaze that was spreading rapidly due to the inflammable materials stored in the factories said Brigadier Saleh Saeed Al Matrooshi Director of Ajman Civil Defence.

The fire was brought under using water and foam and the area surrounding the two factories was cordoned off to ensure the fire does not spread to neighbouring factories and warehouses he said.

The forensic experts of the Ajman Police are examining the sites to investigate the main reasons behind the fire incidents.

"We are urging owners of factories and industrial establishments to ensure that electrical connections on the premises of the factories are well-secured. They should not store goods randomly or pile up huge quantities of stored items at the doors of the factories as that

delays the operation of controlling the blaze by firefighters."

Companies must see to it that fire extinguishing equipment at their warehouses and factories is in good condition in order to ensure the safety of their properties and to avoid human and financial losses caused by fire accidents Brigadier Al Matrooshi added.
