Nahdi Medical Swipes First Place Locally and Seventh Globally in "The Fresh Connection" Competition


(MENAFNEditorial) Nahdi Medical Company, the largest retail pharmacy chain in the Middle East and North Africa, has exemplified its strength and expertise in supply chain management, ranking first place locally and seventh place globally in the "Fresh Connection" competition, which concluded on June 5th, qualifying Nahdi to participate in the finals in Amsterdam, in September, alongside other teams from around the world.

Nahdi took part in the competition that was administered by Trax Consulting, a business solutions and consulting services provider, with over 650 professionals, making up 130 teams from thirty countries, with 13 teams from Saudi Arabia. Participating teams were tasked with making strategic and tactical decisions to save a fictional company from financial loss and make it as profitable as possible.

Eng. Yasser Joharji, CEO at Nahdi, expressed his pride of the supply chain department and said: "We are very proud of the outstanding results that were achieved by the supply chain team throughout this competition, and we hope that they excel respectively in the finals. At Nahdi, we are committed to providing great quality of the utmost standards throughout our various functions and departments."

Eng. Raed Jammel Monagel, Vice President of the Supply Chain Department at Nahdi, commended his team and said: "Our team has proved its worth, achieving a leading position in this realm amongst a large number of participants who took part in the challenge. We possess strong logistical capabilities that are based on a fundamental structure, adhering to the highest standards, in terms of storage, transportation and distribution, as well as product safety."

"The department functions following international standards and provides our pharmacies with various products within the specified time frame, ensuring our focus and attention to detail is unmatched," he added.

Nahdi is dedicated to improving its supply chain system by building a warehouse that is globally certified by ISO Global Standards, accommodating over 20,000 healthcare products, infant milk products, medication and beauty products, which will be distributed to various areas across Saudi Arabia, by a fleet of readily-equipped and refrigerated vehicles, amounting to a total of 85. The company will also continue to build its logistical infrastructure and develop supply chain solutions, as part of the company-wide development of a wide range of solutions and innovations.

Nahdi employees that make up the supply chain department oversee the warehouses, maintenance planning and transport.
