Qatar, Philippine trade amounts to USD652m in 2014


(MENAFN) According to Philippine's Ambassador in Qatar, bilateral merchandise trade between Qatar and the Philippines reached USD652 million last year, increasing from a year ago.

Despite a drop in the total trade worth the USD1.047 billion recorded in 2013. In 2014, exports saw a 10.25 percent growth to USD22.6 million from USD20.5 million over the same period last year.

He added that while 95 percent of Philippine exports to Qatar are food products, there is an opportunity to maximize the sudden increase in the export of aero plane and helicopter parts.

"Despite the decrease in the trade figures between the Philippines and Qatar from 2013 to 2014, Philippine exports to Qatar also increased from USD20.56 to USD22.67 million," he said.
