Kuwait- 'Gulf Cup' Postponed

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The 23rd Gulf Cup of Nations is to be postponed for a year after a request was approved at a meeting by chiefs of the GCC football associations, President of Kuwait Football Association (KFA) Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad announced Monday. The 23rd Gulf Cup of Nations was scheduled to be held in Kuwait in December, after Iraq withdrew from hosting it.

The postponement request was presented at a meeting by the chiefs of the GCC football associations at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Kuwait. After the meeting, Al-Fahad told the press that the postponement request was due to the unpreparedness of sporting venues in Kuwait to accommodate an event of such magnitude.
