Empower offers Summer Internship to UAE university students in August


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) mirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation, EMPOWER, the district cooling services provider, has launched a training programme in which many UAE students are being familiarised with skills needed in district cooling industry.

The company selected students doing majors in International Business, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and HR/Business Administration, so that they could hone their skills in the fields of operations, maintenance and management in district cooling industry.

According to Ahmad bin Shafar, Chief Executive Officer of Empower, the programme, which runs for a month until 27th of August, aims to introduce the students to the vital role EMPOWER plays in this industry.

"We want to support the district cooling industry in the UAE through all possible means," says Bin Shafar. "By engaging students in the process, we seek to generate interest that could encourage them to consider this sector fora potential career."

The ten students are given training across major operations in Empower's headquarters and plants.

"These trainees could turn to become suitable candidates to develop this industry. We have selected students from renowned colleges like Higher Colleges of Technology, University of Nottingham, American University in the Emirates, and International School of Arts and Sciences," added Bin Shafar.

Empower has also facilitated experiencing actual operations, through site visits to major cooling plants across Dubai, bringing hands on operational experience. "This training programme could bring new innovative ideas to the district cooling industry," concluded Bin Shafar.

Empower currently operates more than 1 Million RT, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, among others.
