UAE- Dh170m water network upgrades underway


(MENAFN- The Arabian Post) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) says it has achieved "significant progress" in constructing and extending water networks in the emirate.

Work to install or extend 25 kilometres of supply is under way across Dubai.

"Through this project, Dewa aims to raise the efficiency of production and operations, and increase flow to meet the growing demand for water," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and chief executive of Dewa.

More than 33 per cent of the total length of piplelines has been accomplished already, said Mr Al Tayer. The total cost of the project is Dh170 million.

"The project implementation has commenced in accordance with the planned schedule and we expect to finish it by January 2016," he said.
