109 killed in flash floods across Pakistan: NDMA


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) At least 109 people have been killed and 46 others have been injured as floods continue to ravage different parts of Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Saturday.

Giving a breakdown of damage caused by the floods, the NDMA said that more than 700,000 people were affected by the floods and neary 2,000 houes were damaged in 1,800 villages swept by floods.

According to current meteorological conditions, heavy rainfall is expected over Islamabad / Rawalpindi areas during next 36 hours.

According to latest Meteorological & Hydrological conditions observed by Flood Forecasting Division Lahore, River Indus at GUDDU is likely to attain High to very High flood level ranging between 650,000 cusecs to 750,000 cusecs during the period from 1400 PST of 01st August 2015 to 2400 PST of 3rd August 2015.However High flood level will remain continue further seven days.
