Three militants killed in eastern Turkey

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Three militants were killed Friday in clashes with security forces in Agri province, eastern Turkey, sources said.

Security sources told Anadolu Agency that members of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) terrorist group and affiliated Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) were killed in clashes with Turkish security forces, after Agri police staged an anti-terror operation in Fevzi Cakmak neighborhood, sources said.

Turkey has launched its anti-terror crackdown following the July 20 Suruc bombing that killed 32 activists and the attacks on security forces in the following days.

Ankara has detained more than 1,300 suspected supporters of groups such as Daesh and PKK - recognized as terrorist groups by Turkey, the EU and the U.S. - as well as launching airstrikes in Daesh in Syria and the PKK in Turkey and northern Iraq.
