(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Through its office in Bosnia, Qatar Charity (QC) has implemented income-generating projects which benefited over 100 families in the first half of 2015.
Projects included distribution of distributing dairy cattle, farming sheep, beehives, fruit trees, and strawberry seedlings. The office also signed an agreement with the Ministry of Social and Emigrants Affairs to jointly finance new economic empowerment projects.
QC will implement greenhouses projects, provide farmers with tools and plant fruit trees in wide land areas. The projects aim to relieve the burden on poor families in the targeted areas in the east where unemployment rates are high and job opportunities rare.
QC encourages people to be economically independent by offering good jobs with monthly salaries to help them generate income without depending on aid.
Once the project is ready, many poor families are expected to have better income. QC's economic empowerment projects have an essential and positive role in the lives of the target families and society. They will help reduce internal emigration and empower villages in their regions by offering them means of production to become financially self-dependent. Community leaders are also keen that these projects are implemented.
QC has been working in Bosnia since 1994, has spent over QR110m and regularly sponsored around 2,116 orphans, 78 needy families, 164 students and 10 Huffaz who memorise the Holy Quran. It also tries to implement important necessary projects for target families and society.
