Oman- MSM slips as financials continue to hurt


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Muscat Securities Market's 30-share benchmark index posted a decline of 0.21 per cent in Monday's session to close at 6568.09. 

The Financial sub-index continued its downward trend losing 0.38 per cent on a daily basis. It ended at 8079.65. The Industrial gauge dipped 0.1 per cent at 8320.97 while the Services index remained largely stable.

The MSM Shariah index closed down 0.15 per cent at 990.93.

Market volume and value dropped 4.99 per cent and 12.55 per cent to 10.27mn shares and RO2.4mn respectively. Market capitalisation decreased 0.11 per cent to RO15.21bn. 

SMN Power Holding (+3.41 per cent) Al Batinah Power (+3.14 per cent) and Al Suwadi Power (+2.22 per cent) were amongst the top gainers for the day whereas alizz Islamic bank (-5.13 per cent) National Aluminium Products (-3.92 per cent) and Sembcorp Salalah (-3.73 per cent) were among the worst performers on the Muscat bourse on Monday.
