Labor tribunal to be set up at Justice Ministry


(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: Plans are underway to shift the labor dispute commission in the Ministry of Labor to the Ministry of Justice. Related discussions were held here Thursday between Justice Minister Walid Al-Samaani and Labor Minister Mufrej Al-Haqabani.
The discussions focused on how this labor commission could be transformed into labor tribunal under the Ministry of Justice.
The general supervisor of public administrative bodies in the settlement of labor disputes and president of the Supreme Commission for the Settlement of Labor Disputes Abdullah Al-Abdullatif made a presentation to tell decision makers how the commission could be transferred to the Ministry of Justice and made to function as a labor tribunal.
Al-Abdullatif explained that it would be a smooth transfer with the blessings of the two ministries for the benefit of workers.
According to a report last year more than 37000 labor disputes and work-related injury cases involving claims to the sum of SR186 million have been resolved.
