S. Korea's Naver profits triple to USD107m in Q2

(MENAFN) Naver Corp., South Korea's top Internet portal operator, said its second-quarter net profit more than tripled from a year earlier, driven by robust revenues from mobile advertising.

Net income reached a total of USD107 million in the April-June period of this year, compared with USD33.96 million the previous year, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The figure, however, falls far short of the median estimate of USD129.46 million in a poll conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial news arm of Yonhap News Agency.

Meanwhile, operating profit registered a decrease of 11.6 percent in the cited period to USD144.11 million logged a year earlier, while sales gained 13.8 percent to USD673.14 million.
