(MENAFN) South Korea's leading mobile operator, SK Telecom Co., said it logged a drop of its second-quarter net profit of 20 percent, mainly driven by a one-off charge related to personnel restructuring.
The telecom giant's net profit came to USD342.8 million in the April-June period of the year, compared with USD428.91 million tallied a year earlier, SK Telecom said in a regulatory filing.
Meanwhile, the South Korean firm's revenue dropped 1.15 percent on-year to USD3.66 billion, while operating profit registered a decrease of 24.4 percent to USD355.85 million.
SK Telecom attributed the on-year decline to a massive one-off cost caused by its latest restructuring efforts and special severance payments to its workers leaving the company.
