Kuwait- Fees May Rise Old Cars To 'Cost' More

(MENAFN- Arab Times) General Traffic Department has submitted a proposal to increase the fees for renewal of documents of vehicles that are older than 20 years, reports Al- Rai daily quoting informed sources.

The newly proposed fees will range between KD 50 and KD 100, whereby KD50 will be initially imposed on such vehicles, after which the fees will increase to KD 70 and then KD 100.

Since there is no law banning the use of such vehicles, they are prevalent on the roads of Kuwait and cause many traffic problems because of their speed or the mechanical problems they experience on the roads. The proposal is aimed to confront this phenomenon, as the owners may prefer to get rid of their vehicles instead of paying high fees for them.
