Local San Diego Author Wins San Diego Book Award

San Diego CA – Imaginations 2: Relaxation Stories and Guided Imagery by Carolyn Clarke San Diego area children’s yoga instructor and author was named the winner of the Children’s Nonfiction San Diego Book Award this year. Clarke’s book is a collection of stories that harnesses children’s vivid imaginations to calm their bodies and focus their minds.

Imaginations 2 is the second book in Clarke’s Imaginations series. The first book Imaginations: Fun Relaxation Stories and Meditations for Kids also earned a San Book Award and is currently being translated into multiple languages.

Clarke said “I am thrilled to have received this award. It shows that we are recognizing the ability to relax as an essential skill in our hectic world today. Ideally children should lead happy and calm lives but often they are too busy and over stimulated. Imaginations 2 teaches kids to relax themselves so they can be healthier happier and ready to learn and grow.”

The San Diego Book Awards Association founded in 1994 honors the best published books and unpublished manuscripts by San Diego County residents annually.

Clarke is the founder of Bambino Yoga a company dedicated to providing children’s yoga throughout San Diego County. Since 2002 she has taught yoga and relaxation to kids including Girl Scout troops sports teams classrooms and entire schools. She also trains adults on how to teach yoga and relaxation to kids. She lives with her husband in Pacific Beach.
