Search on for missing Emiratis in Oman seas


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)Omani Royal Air Force planes are combing the beaches of Mirbat state in Oman in search of two Emirati men believed to have drowned in the sea.

Omani News Network said in its Twitter account that the beaches are being scoured using sophisticated thermal scanners.

The uncle of the missing men arrived in Oman by a helicopter belonging to Omani Royal Air Force.

A source at the Omani rescue agencies said bodies surface only after some time especially when the sea is rough and cold.

"In the 90s a similar incident took place during autumn and the body surfaced only after 10 days near Mirbat beaches" the source said.

Al Bayan an Arabic newspaper reported that it had contacted the authorities which confirmed that the search was on in full swing.
