Malaysia stocks lower at close of trade FTSE Malaysia KLCI down 0.04%


(MENAFN- FxPro) Malaysia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Property, Mining and Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI declined 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were MISC Bhd (KL:MISC), which rose 1.99% or 0.15 points to trade at 7.70 at the close. Meanwhile, RHB Capital Bhd (KL:RHBC) added 1.51% or 0.11 points to end at 7.38 and Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (KL:FGVH) was up 1.23% or 0.02 points to 1.65 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sapurakencana Petroleum Bhd (KL:SKPE), which fell 2.10% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.33 at the close. Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (KL:ASTR) declined 1.34% or 0.04 points to end at 2.95 and Sime Darby Bhd (KL:SIME) was down 1.06% or 0.09 points to 8.42.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 312 to 260 and 37 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.27% or 0.13 to $47.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.41% or 0.22 to hit $53.08 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1097.00 a troy ounce.

SGD/MYR was down 0.05% to 2.7880, while USD/MYR rose 0.11% to 3.8073.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 96.70.
