Ghana- Sumaila To Complete Move


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila has arrived in Kuwait to complete his permanent move to Al Qadsia. The 22-year-old spent the second half of the season on loan at Al Qadsia from South African club Mamelodi Sundowns. Sumaila impressed during his short time in Kuwait € helping the side clinch the Emir Cup. Al Qadsia have already reached an agreement with Sundowns to acquire the Ghana defender on a permanent basis.

Injury-plagued forward Stevan Jovetic is undergoing medical exams with Inter Milan as part of a transfer from Manchester City. The Montenegro international will reportedly move back to Italy on a twoyear loan deal, with Inter obliged to eventually purchase his full rights for 12 million euros ($13 million). Inter coach Roberto Mancini says "he'll be a key piece for us." The 25-year-old Jovetic established himself in Serie A with Fiorentina but never really regained the form he had before he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in 2010, which caused him to miss the entire 2010-11 season.


Four-time defending champion Juventus will face its biggest title challenger from the past two seasons shortly after the start of the new Serie Acampaign. League officials unveiled the Serie A schedule Monday and Juventus will visit Roma in the second round of matches after hosting Udinese in their opening game on Aug 22 or 23. Sinisa Mihajlovic will debut as AC Milan manager at Fiorentina.


Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani has been suspended for two matches over his flare-up with Chilean defender Gonzalo Jara at the Copa America, the South American Football Confederation announced. He will miss his country's first World Cup qualifying tie as well as the visit to Bolivia in October. But Cavani and the Uruguayan camp claimed he had been the victim of provocation which should have been spotted by the match officials.



A new Parma club backed by pasta maker Guido Barilla and other business executives has been approved to compete in Serie D after the previous squad went bankrupt. The Italian football federation chose the team named Parma Calcio 1913 - after the founding year of the city's original squad - over another entrant led by Giuseppe Corrado, who runs a national cinema chain. Parma Calcio 1913 has the backing of the city's mayor. In March, Parma was declared bankrupt with debts of more than 200 million euros ($220 million). After finishing last in Serie A, Parma was disbanded when no buyer came forward willing to take on the debt.
