Qatar- MoI honours Rotana Group for support

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Ministry of Interior honoured Rotana Restaurant Group for constant support in organising cultural events and raising traffic awareness among expatriate communities in Qatar.

Col. Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah, Director, Public Relations Department of the ministry, presented a memento as a token of appreciation to Mr Ajmal, Managing Director of the group, in a ceremony as part of 'Eid Al Fitr celebrations 2015 for communities' on the second day of Eid at Barwa Workers Recreation Complex in Al Khor.

More than 6,000 people from different nationalities took part in celebration activities.

The group supported the celebrations, including a six-nation cricket match for communities at Asian Town cricket stadium in Doha Industrial Area and joined hands with the ministry to raise awareness about pedestrian safety among customers.

'We are proud to associate with the ministry on all occasions and celebrations for communities throughout the year. During National Day celebrations last year, our group sponsored promotional brochures of 'Associated Activities of Qatar National Day Celebrations 2014' and this time associated again with the ministry in sponsoring promotional brochures of 'Eid Al Fitr Celebrations 2015'," said Ajmal. 'As part of social responsibility towards our customers, we associated with the ministry in spreading pedestrian safety message among our customers.

"The response of our customers was overwhelming and many appreciated our initiative in several languages. Some took mats with traffic safety tips to their rooms to pass the message to roommates," he added.

The group printed one million table mats with pedestrian safety messages in English, Arabic, Malayalam, Hindi, Urdu and Nepalese.
